“Hell and High Water” is an hilarious one-act comedy centred on Lord Charles Summerville’s unshakeable commitment to tradition amidst increasingly chaotic circumstances.

The play unfolds in his stately dining hall, where a most unusual situation gradually develops.

The characters’ distinct reactions to an unexpected predicament brings chaos and hilarity to the stage. Lord Charles, ever the stickler for decorum, attempts to maintain a semblance of normalcy. His wife, Lucy, and their children, Patrick and Pamela, adapt in their own unique and often comical ways, their formal attire becoming increasingly unconventional.

Adding to the absurdity is Phillip Lazard, a “lounge lizard” whose smooth exterior quickly cracks under pressure. Beacham, the dignified butler, remains unflappable, embodying a steadfastness that becomes increasingly amusing given the unfolding events. Even the Reverend Dawkins, a saint-like vicar, finds solace in an unexpected indulgence.

The escalating situation provides a constant source of gags, culminating in a series of farcical attempts to address the predicament and a surprise development right at the very end.

With the addition of a delicious Ploughman’s Supper, this will be a fabulously fun night out for all.  Don’t miss it!
